Chief Information Security Officer at Bank of America
Kristopher (Kris) Fador is the Chief Information Security Officer for Bank of America, where he leads the Global Information Security (GIS) team in protecting the company and its clients against cybersecurity threats.
Kris oversees a global team comprised of 3,400 professionals from 18 countries who are thought leaders, industry experts and innovators, with more than 1,300 cybersecurity patents filed or granted. The GIS team plays a critical role in safeguarding all of Bank of America’s clients across the globe while also collaborating with global and national industry and government partners to advance cybersecurity for the entire financial services sector.
Kris currently serves as the Chair of Board of Directors for the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC), sits on the Management Committee of the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council (FSSCC), and is a member of the Board of Trustees at Lake Forest College, his alma mater. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Coastal Studies, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and studying marine ecosystems.
A passionate advocate for gender equity in technology, Kris is the co-executive sponsor of Bank of America’s Women in Technology & Operations group, having previously served as co-chair. He is also the bank’s Market Sponsor for its North Carolina Triad region.
Based in Charlotte, Kris has held a variety of cybersecurity leadership roles based in Chicago, Hong Kong and New York. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and History from Lake Forest College.
