Reston, VA, September 4, 2026 – FS-ISAC, the member-driven, not-for-profit organization that advances cybersecurity and resilience in the global financial system, today announced the appointment of John “JD” Denning as interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective September 4, 2026.
JD previously served as FS-ISAC's Chief Security Officer, where he led the organization's cybersecurity, physical security, enterprise risk management, and technology functions. With more than 20 years of experience in developing and disseminating critical cybersecurity best practices, JD has worked closely with FS-ISAC’s members, partners, and government stakeholders to strengthen resilience across the financial sector and advance initiatives focused on cybersecurity, operational resilience, and emerging risks.

JD is the CEO of FS-ISAC. He joined FS-ISAC in January 2024 as Chief Security Officer, leading the organization's cybersecurity, physical security, enterprise risk management, and technology functions. In this role, Denning played a key part in strengthening sector-wide resilience by curating and disseminating foundational cybersecurity practices, translating insights from the most advanced cyber defense programs into actionable guidance for the broader financial services community.
Prior to joining FS-ISAC, JD spent more than thirteen years at Bank of America, helping lead enterprise efforts to defend against an increasingly complex and dynamic threat environment.
