New alliance empowers security leaders to identify threat actor patterns and mitigate potential risk
Reston, VA, US, April 30, 2025 – FS-ISAC, the member-driven, not-for-profit organization that advances cybersecurity and resilience in the global financial system, today announced Cloudflare, Inc. (NYSE: NET), the leading connectivity cloud company, has joined its Critical Providers Program.
With a focus on increasing threat analysis on behalf of the financial sector, this partnership will enrich FS-ISAC’s actionable insights through direct access to Cloudflare’s data and extensive global network. FS-ISAC member financial firms will gain a deeper perspective on the tools and methodologies used by threat actors so they can more proactively defend their operations.
“The threat landscape evolves at breakneck speed, and macro-level visibility into emerging threat trends is critical to protecting the global financial system,” said Teresa Walsh, FS-ISAC’s Chief Intelligence Officer and Managing Director, EMEA. “Through our intelligence-sharing collaboration with Cloudflare, we’re creating a powerful feedback loop — allowing our members to accelerate response times and strengthen defenses across the entire financial sector.”
A dedicated communications channel between FS-ISAC members and Cloudflare will be established, facilitating secure collaboration on an ongoing basis and during active cyber incidents. Joint research and knowledge sharing are other key pillars of the partnership.
“Financial services organizations and banks are critical infrastructure that underpin today’s global economy and the flow of capital that impacts the lives of individuals and businesses. Naturally, this makes them one of the most appealing targets for cybercriminals,” said Grant Bourzikas, Chief Security Officer at Cloudflare. “Cloudflare’s partnership with FS-ISAC now empowers members with real-time threat intelligence that is based on the telemetry from our global network — which has about 20% of the world’s web behind it. We’re excited to partner with FS-ISAC to help CISOs ultimately gain the confidence to differentiate between noise and the most pressing issues their organizations face.”
FS-ISAC’s Critical Providers Program facilitates collaboration between FS-ISAC’s member financial firms and key infrastructure and services providers across the financial system. Launched in 2022 with Akamai as the founding partner, the program reduces third-party risk via secure and trusted communication channels between the security leaders of financial firms and the organizations critical to their business operations, ensuring effective security uplift and rapid and robust incident response. FS-ISAC and Critical Providers routinely collaborate on research and threat briefings.
