What is FS-ISAC Connect?
FS-ISAC Connect is a secure chat platform which provides a secure closed environment for our members to collaborate with one another on sensitive topics that are inappropriate for email and/or are highly transactional. Connect brings together members who wish to discuss similar topics or are facing the same challenges and gives them a secure place to exchange ideas and intelligence.
How do I access Connect?
Users access FS-ISAC platforms such as Connect and Share through our single sign-on FS-ISAC Intelligence Exchange. Connect is powered by Mattermost so users can also access it via the desktop and mobile apps which are available to download.
What should I expect when I log in?
Once a user logs in to Connect, they’ll see they have been added to one or more Teams based on their participation with different groups within FS-ISAC. If a member joins a new Community of Interest or Committee after logging in for the first time, they will be added to those Teams as they join.
How do I get an account for Connect?
Members will access Connect through their FS-ISAC Intelligence Exchange account credentials. If a user logs in to the Intelligence Exchange but does not see the Connect icon, this means they have not been added to any groups. To get involved in a group at FS-ISAC, contact your organization's point of contact. If you don't know who your organization's FS-ISAC point of contact is, email memberquestions@fsisac.com.
With the introduction of FS-ISAC Connect, will the existing mailing lists be discontinued?
Once Connect is available to members, many mailing lists will be phased out on a rolling basis while these discussions are moved into Connect. This real time-sharing platform will allow our members to connect quickly and alleviate the “email overload” concern that we have heard from many of our members. We plan to migrate as many of the mailing lists over to Connect as possible. If a member is a part of a group and would like to see that group move to Connect, they should contact the FS-ISAC staff lead for the group.
Will FS-ISAC keep logs of the discussions in Connect? Can I get access to my logs?
FS-ISAC logs activity and retains audit logs in accordance with FS-ISAC policy. Logs are for internal use only and are not available to members. Communication monitoring and regulatory compliance is the responsibility of each member organization. Organizations may need to consult with their compliance teams to determine if additional communication monitoring is required.
How do I learn how to use Connect?
Once logged in to Connect, all users will have access to several training videos which highlight the layout, different functions and capabilities of Connect.
If I have questions or feedback on Connect, who can I contact?
If you have questions or would like to share feedback on Connect, please reach out to FS-ISAC Admin or your organization's FS-ISAC point of contact. If you don't know your organization's FS-ISAC point of contact, email memberquestions@fsisac.com.
