Cyber Security Internship Position 

FS-ISAC is seeking current students interested in a part-time, 10-week internship opportunity in the intelligence and security field. The position requires a demonstrated interest in intelligence and security, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills. The part-time position is in Reston, Virginia. Students may also be eligible for college credit with prior approval of their schools. This internship will provide candidates the benefits of hands on learning, exposure to professionals and forums in the field, and possible future employment. We are interested in interns who are eager to excel and will be available in the event of an extension of the internship experience. We are looking for someone who can start immediately. Summer interns may also apply.
Students in any major may apply, though majors in the following fields may be best suited to the opening:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Information Security
  • Computer Engineering

FS-ISAC is the only industry forum for collaboration on critical security threats facing critical infrastructure sectors. When attacks occur, early warning and expert advice can mean the difference between business continuity and widespread business catastrophe. Members of FS-ISAC receive timely notification and authoritative information specifically designed to help protect critical systems and assets from physical and cyber security threats.

Examples of tasks required of interns *

  • Utilize scripting languages to develop, maintain and/or enhance tools to improve analysts’ operation efficiency
  • Operational support for the Information Sharing and Analysis Center including
  • Conduct research of threat actors, campaigns or malware using OSINT to assist analysts in their intelligence mission
  • Assist in the production of intelligence products such as threat, incident or vulnerability reports which are distributed to FS-ISAC’s members
  • Produce PowerPoint presentations, documents, web pages, wiki articles, and newsletter publications from content provided by the analysts
  • Develop and maintain documentation of operational processes / procedures and “How-to” guides for tools used by the analysts
