David Ritenour is Managing Director and Head of Cyber Defense and Deputy CISO of Wells Fargo. He is responsible for the bank’s cyber defense and response programs. Dave joined Wells Fargo in January 2025.

Dave was prior the former Chief Information Security Officer for several fortune 200 firms such as BlackRock, SunGard, and NextEra. Prior, Dave was Deputy CISO for Lehman Brothers. As CISO for BlackRock, Dave built and led the cyber security program globally for almost nine years. This included the ETF iShares and Aladdin product line. As the first CSO/CISO for SunGard, the third largest business applications fintech prior to acquisition by FIS, he led the physical security, business continuity, crisis management, and cyber security teams across SunGard’s portfolio of companies and their 25,000+ clients, 25,000 developers, and over $25 trillion in investment assets accounted or managed by systems developed by SunGard. Prior to SunGard, Dave was the deputy CISO for Lehman Brothers managing Technology Risk and Information Security, where he held responsibility for managing the functions globally across all business lines.

Dave has more than 20 years as a CISO leading security groups across a range of sectors (financial services asset management, banking, energy, fintech / IT services) and a range of disciplines (application development, systems and infrastructure management, network security, and technology risk). Additionally, he has served on numerous public, private, and government security advisory boards including IBM, ISS, Enterprise Ireland, Moody’s, etc.
